How to Track Metrics on an Instagram Business Account
 
 

💡Would you like to know the demographics of who likes your posts and stories?

💡How about knowing the days of the week your account gets the most reach?

💡And I’m sure you’re interested in which of your posts and stories are a favorite amongst your followers…

There are so many reasons I’d encourage you to take that dive into the analytics of your Instagram Business Account.

  • ⭐️ Understanding which types of content are most popular means you can create more of it for the demographic that enjoys it best.

  • ⭐️It helps to really fine tune your Instagram strategy and you can reach out to your audience in a meaningful and effective way.

Let’s start off with where we find all that juicy information, what it means and how to keep track of it.

Where Do I Find Analytics on My Instagram Business Account?

➡️Head on over to your business profile.

➡️Touch Menu (the bargraph sign)

➡️Touch Insights

And you’re in! Be amazed at all the super interesting information you’re about to discover.

1️⃣ The Content tab

This gives a summary of your posts and stories for the week

2️⃣The Activity tab

This tells you:

  • how many accounts you reached in the period of a week

  • if your reach increased or decreased

  • how many impressions you received (and if this increased or decreased)

  • and how many interactions you received on your account (how many people visited your profile or engaged with you)

There’s a cool graph displaying how much interactions you received per day.

3️⃣The Audience tab

This will give you a running total of your number of followers and an indication of if you’ve gained or lost any followers.

You’ll also find some graphs detailing

  • your growth

  • which towns, cities and countries people are visiting you from

  • their age range and gender

  • and the time of day your account receives the most interaction.

How do we use all this data?

I like to keep track of it all on my own spreadsheet. This gives me a really clear idea of how an account is performing over time, what posts do well, who likes which kind of stories, what age group/location/person is interested in my posts and what time of the day or week my posts reach the most people.

Once it’s clear what is performing really well - make more of that type of content!

When you understand which days or times of day your content has the furthest reach - get your content to go out then!

Talk about being able to fine tune your Instagram business strategy!
