When and How to Give Your Instagram Profile a Makeover
 
 

I have no clue what you do 🤷‍♀️

Have you ever had that moment? You come across a profile and almost immediately leave because you have no clue what the person does…

I know we hear it often, but I’m going to tell you again! Within the first minute of being on your profile - your audience should know exactly what you do!

Believe it or not, profiles that don’t include important information are common! Few of us have the time to search through an account to figure out the who, what and where. It’s easier to find someone else who offers a similar service and is clearer.

If you’re second-guessing the quality of your profile, here are 4 questions which will help you decide:

Time for an Extreme Makeover - Instagram Edition?

  • Do you often get asked what you do?

  • Are you attracting the wrong followers/audience?

  • Do you receive vague responses to your feed?

  • Do new followers reach out and ask who you are?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, it’s time to elevate the way you’re running your Instagram account!

Start by using this checklist to optimize your profile 👇

Profile Picture

This should be a high quality, brand specific image of you. And yes, we want to see your face! Let your profile picture give people an idea of what you’re offering or what you represent.

An image of you in your Christmas sweater eating cake won’t give any clues that you’re the marketing coach who’s going to turn their business around. Keep your profile image relevant and on brand. 

Your name

Tell us what to call you! If you are the face of your business, use your own name. Whatever you do, keep it simple and memorable.

What you do

This part comes right next to your name separated by a line. Be specific. For example, mine states simply: Claire | Instagram Engagement

If your username contains your name, like Claireaudrey_va, you could use this space to only indicate what you do with a title like Expert Instagram Engagement or Virtual Assistant.

Brief Description

What do you do? Who do you serve? What do your clients get through your services?

“I help coaches attract ideal clients, spend less time on Instagram and actually make IG work for their business.” Clear as a whistle.

Stating clearly what you do and who you serve will truly set you apart.

⭐️Attention location based services ! If you have a specific area you operate in, let us know WHERE you are front and centre! Clients are looking for you, don’t make them hunt for that info. Details like these are what make you attract or lose potential clients!

Call to Action

Include a short phrase that will encourage people to click on your link. Your CTA can be in the form of a question or a directive. “Click here to find out more!” or “Ready to push your biz to the next level?”
