It’s important to understand that there are multiple factors that influence your metrics on Instagram.

And for a quick refresher on what your metrics are and where to find all your analytics on Instagram, read my blog post about Instagram metrics right here!

There’s so much helpful information to be found right there in your Instagram Business account analytics. Reading them is one thing, understanding them is another (both of which I can help you with if you’re struggling!)

Today we’ll go through 6 factors that impact your metrics on Instagram. If you notice an increase or decrease in areas of your analytics - one of these 👇may be the reason.

1️⃣The Content You’re Producing

Your metrics give a really good indication of what your most popular content is and what isn’t drawing as much engagement. Using these analytics as a guide, create more of what your audience loved and you’ll notice a positive change in your metrics.

2️⃣How Often You Show Up

Showing up regularly and creating content often will yield great results! The increased engagement you’ll get will show on your analytics. Same goes for being absent from the Gram - your metrics will take a dive.

3️⃣Your Audience and How Engaged They Are

This is where you can really tell the difference between an account that’s grown organically versus one that’s not. Growing organically means surrounding yourself with (and gaining) followers who are interested in you and your content, who can relate to you and who engage with you because you speak to them and their pain points.

Having a large number of followers who aren’t invested in you and what you’re saying will show in your analytics with poor engagement numbers.

4️⃣Where You’re At In Your Business

If you’re launching a course or program, you should expect to see an increase in your metrics across the board! After the launch, it’s normal for the numbers to settle down a little.

5️⃣Engaging Consistently

Regularly engaging on Instagram will impact your metrics positively - you’ll see an increase in your engagement numbers, an increase in followers and a number of other data changes that analysts like me just love to drool over.

6️⃣You!

Having a strategy for your online business and implementing it, creating content that speaks to your ideal client and showing up consistently all impact how well Instagram will work for you. Keeping an eye on Instagram metrics will help you figure out what works best for your business.
